DRIVETRAIN:
Thanks to power of6 BuWizz motors this MOC produces a whopping 1.2 horsepower(did the calculations) for the size! To keep it compact next to the seats the side motors (2 on each side) are mounted diagonally to take less space. Behind those 4 motors, and right under the center BuWizz 3.0 block are 2 more motors that "help" the 4 main ones. All that power goes to 3 "sandwiched" 12t gears to ensure they don't crack. Then speed is reduced by 2 other gear reducers, then goes to the diff. At the end the model has a ratio of3:1so at full speed the RPM of the wheels is of about 350 RPM, thus giving a quite respectable speed of 12 km/h!
STEERING:
Not much to say about the steering, as usual it uses acontrol+ Lmotor with a different gear rack setup to produce good amount of power, using an 8 tooth gear as steering unlike a usual 12 tooth, by the way that was one of the problems during the building process but now it is fully fixed. :)
SUSPENSION:
Although there is very little place between the wheels and the mudguards a bit of suspension is present, using asimilar suspension setup to 42143, tried lowering a bit though so it looks a bit more aggressive. Rear is quite hard front is definitely softer but can support its weight without a problem.
WORKING V10:
Definitely a function I wanted to add was a working V10, which wasn't easy because if the space taken by the BuWizz motors and BuWizz 3.0s. Thus the V10 had to be placed further back than it should've been, it is connected to the motors through some U-joints and also has a gear reduction of 3:1 so the engine doesn't spin too much and break the pistons.
OPENING ENGINE COVER:
Even though the pistons are visible without opening the engine cover, a function like that is always welcome to add more display options to it. It is not spring loaded but rather holds in place with retractable support leg.
OPENING HOOD:
1 of the 3 BuWizz 3.0s is placed under the hood so having an opening one was a must. Same as the engine cover it has a support leg that holds it in place, unfortunately because of that there is a hole in the front section to let the hood open... I couldn't find a way to keep that function without that 1-2mm hole... With it the BuWizz 3.0 has a really easy access to charge and turn it on!
OPENING DOORS:
Particularity of this car is the 4 small, soft shock absorbers that are in the inventory, why? Because they are used both for the lock of the doors and the spring-loaded system. Yes, the doors don't open far but I think it's fine. Adds some even more realism to it! And I love that.
WORKING LED LIGHTS:
It includes 2 sets of PU lights to add lightning in the front section, in the instructions there are photos on how to run the cables.
INTERIOR:
Unfortunately, due to the lack of space inside the cockpit because of the BuWizz 3.0 only half of the seats are present, it has a very basic dashboard and interior but it makes the job for me. Including 2 beautiful blue seats, a working steering wheel (which is not the most reliable thing on earth but still works... Sometimes it turns more than other times. And a cool grey middle section.
EXTERIOR:
When building this MOC the main focus was obviously the exterior aspect. Lines flow smoothly and there are almost no gaps, unlike some official lego sets that look more complex but have more gaps :) Because of that the piece count is only of 3065 parts, thus giving a quite significant 3 kilos of weight...
FINAL NOTES:
When purchasing this MOC you will get 4 professionally and tested booklets with the main instructions. There will also be attached another PDF with photos on HOW to run the cables added to that there will be some screenshots on how to configure the BuWizz app IF NEEDED.
All of those have been test-built by me so I can guarantee that they work flawlessly.
IMPORTANT:
-This MOC isn't recommended for inexperienced builders, many steps require some skill so DO NOT choose this as your first model.
-This MOC isn't meant for any indoor use nor offroad action due to the low ground clearance, it is supposed to be runed in a large open OUTDOOR space.
-Some sections of the build can be fragile, ESPECIALLY the front splitter, so be careful when manipulating it, under normal conditions it is sturdy but if some collisions occur it might break.
(I am not responsible for lost or damaged parts) And make sure you accelerate gently!
BuWizz motors and BuWizz 3.0s are NOT present in the inventory.
Make sure too that all parts of the drivetrain are lubricated before using!
